Consulting Head Trainer
Our client, The Giving Exchange, is a charitable organization focused on implementing self-sustaining projects and providing resources to under-resourced communities to improve lives.
They are seeking to hire a Head Trainer who will design and deliver a practical, culturally relevant business education program for grassroots entrepreneurs and local partner organizations applying for their microenterprise funding.
This role is key to increasing the success rate of their projects by building capacity and confidence before funding is disbursed.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging, localized business training (budgeting, planning, marketing, sales, etc.)Mentor training alumni and develop accountability structures for ongoing supportCollaborate with the project assessment team to determine funding readinessBuild systems for tracking and reporting business success at key intervalsSupervise two Kenya-based project coordinators and work closely with global teams Required Specifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Education, Development Studies, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage)5+ years of experience in training, entrepreneurship, curriculum design, or small business development, ideally within East AfricaProven ability to design and deliver practical, culturally relevant business training programsStrong facilitation and mentoring skills, with the ability to engage individuals from diverse educational backgroundsStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience working with microenterprise or community-based business modelsFamiliarity with the economic and social context of Kenya and/or UgandaExperience with Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) tools and using data to guide decisions
