In the Liner Shipping segment, the Company has around 13, employees and offices in countries.

Hapag-Lloyd has a container capacity of 2.9 million TEU – including one of the largest and most modern fleets of reefer containers.


Customer Service Coordinator – Counter

Job Purpose:

  • The counter team is responsible for ensuring our customers have a smooth and effective import / export release process.

    They deliver the highest levels of quality and create value for customers as well as for Hapag-Lloyd.
  • Job Responsibilities:

  • OBL issuance and acceptance

  • Container releases – Print delivery orders as well as make amendments, when and if needed, and update it in the custom system immediately

  • Check & verify that documents presented at counter are correct and as per agents manual, thereby ensuring quick and smooth delivery of documents to customers

  • Local document stamping- Ensure mandatory requirements have been fulfilled prior to release of Original Bills of Ladings or Delivery Orders to customer

  • Payment postings – Work on cash outstanding on daily basis to reconcile accounts and identify missed collection cases

  • Maintaining Blank BL form stationary record as per the process for OBL printing facility at customer premises

  • Process BL amendments in urgent cases

  • Be proactive in responding to daily emails
  • Requirements & Job Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent

  • Very good command of written and spoken English

  • Working knowledge of MS Office

  • Core understanding of the Kenyan regulations governing the documentation required for release of cargo.

  • Understanding of the B/L pre-checks prior to signing

  • Dispute resolution while adhering to internal regulations and KPI’s.

  • Able to work well with others and follow guidelines

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Good time management.
