Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Data and Web Intelligence Associate, located in Nairobi County, Kenya.
The Data and Web Intelligence Associate will be responsible for conducting data analysis, developing data models, managing data, and providing analytical insights.
The day-to-day tasks include collecting, processing and analyzing data to support various projects within the extractive industries.
The associate will also assist in developing data-driven strategies and creating reports to support decision-making processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Economics, or related field.
- 2–4 years' experience in web scraping, data collection, or research automation.
- Hands-on with one or more: Octoparse, ParseHub, Bright Data, Zyte
and/or
Python (Scrapy/BeautifulSoup, Pandas).
- Working knowledge of SQL and one BI tool (Looker Studio, Power BI, Metabase, or Superset).
- Strong grasp of data cleaning, schemas and taxonomy design; comfortable with CSV/JSON and spreadsheets.
- Bonus: Airtable/Sheets automation; basic cloud storage (GDrive/AWS S3); entity resolution (companies/people/mines).
- Curiosity about Africa's extractive industries and ability to translate data into simple, clear visuals.
