Electrical Supervisor
The Role:
The electrical supervisor oversees a team of electricians to ensure the safe and efficient execution of electrical projects, installations, and maintenance tasks.
The supervisor requires deep expertise in electrical power systems, solar power systems, Generator power, refrigeration systems, electrical fittings & fixtures and general Electronics.
He/she must demonstrate ability to manage resource effectively.
Key responsibilities include training and mentoring staff, coordinating with contractors, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
The ideal candidate must be a critical thinker that is adept at solving electrical problems, possesses excellent communication and leadership skills with a strong commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Electrical
Responsible for the power reticulation across site including the use of backup generators and all aspect of our three-phase systemOversee the whole of our domestic supply and managing the electrical section team in their daily work.Responsible for all power issues across school in classrooms and boarding houses, including supporting the ICT team as they maintain our school network systemResponsible for the Boarding houses electric water heating appliances extractor fans, time switches and emergency lighting.Responsible for all electrical panels, consumer units and associated power equipment across siteAssist in the planning of new wiring schemes ensuring good professional practice and helping outsourced electrical contractors in their projectsCommunicate with the relevant parties when work is being planned or power is being adversely affected across site.Manage maintenance programs for the electrics and record any work done for accurate future referenceOversee the maintenance and repair of Kitchen and Laundry equipment including cold room equipment and air conditioning devices. Provide technical support for security and safety system installations at school.
These include, but not limited to; CCTV systems:
Electric fence
Fire alarms,
Biometric access systems
PIR motion switches and security
Lightening arrestors systems.
Magnetic door controls.
DSTV and Audio-Visual Equipment
Oversee the setting up, use and maintenance of all TV’s, DVD players, video recorders, satellite TV decoders and dishes, video cameras, LCD projectors, sound equipment, stage lighting, CD players, tape recorders, screens, and other associated equipment.Maintain an inventory of all such equipment including serial numbers.Respond to reports of faulty equipment, sending an electrician to examine and rectify faults where possible, or, to call DSTV technicians as necessary.Report misuse or deliberate damage of equipment to the Estate Manager.Develop a maintenance schedule for all AV equipment and to ensure that it is followed.Assist with the setup of portable data projectors as required.

Coordinate the recording of all work that relates to the power and water systems.Set up and oversee the following systems Electrical maintenance programs
Recording of daily electrical work done
Recording of any upgrades and repairs with location and dates
Recording maintenance to key installations like boreholes, cubicles and main panel Health & Safety
Ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly observed.Report any unsafe conditions or suspicious activity to your line manager and implement necessary changes effectively.Maintenance of firefighting equipment, and allocation of workforce to fight fires.Ensure provision of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and work equipment to your team.
