Gender and NBSAPs Project Support
The Individual contractor’s main role will be to assist contract administration, budget and finance and general administration.
Reporting to the Head, Nature Frameworks Support Unit and the NBSAP Accelerator Partnership Global Coordinator, the individual contractor will undertake the following assignments: Priority tasks include: Contract Administration
Assists with day-to-day administration of contracts between the UN and external contractors, including 6 Small Scale Funding Agreements (5 with countries and 1 with a non-governmental organization) and 1 Project Cooperation Agreement (including advice implementing partners on financial reporting and requirements) Processes the payment requests and monitor payments and disbursement of funds to the implementing partners and UNDP Budget and FinanceAssists in the preparation of supporting documents with respect to finalization of cost estimates and budget proposals, in terms of staff and non-staff requirements.Assists in the preparation/finalization of financial report (financial annual and final reporting to donor, based on financial reports from the implementing partners and agencies)Assists in the preparation and review of financial and human resource proposals/requirements.
Consolidates budget/work programme with respect to the projects’ budget, grants and procurement.Monitors expenditures and compares with approved budget; prepares adjustments as necessary.Prepares or customizes financial reports from IMIS system generated reports.Co-ordinates with other finance and budget staff on related issues during preparation of budget reports.
General administrationPerforms other related administrative duties, as required (e.g. assist in travel logistics; monitoring accounts and payment to individual contractors and implementing partners; organizing and coordinating seminars, conferences and translations).Support monitoring and evaluation (M&E)Assist in preparation of M&E data (remind implementing partners on requirements)prepare relevant statistical M&E data according to reporting requirements of the project Secondary tasks include:Provides administrative support as required.Performs other related duties, as assigned. Qualifications/special skills
A university degree, bachelor or advanced is required.5 years of experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit or related area is required.Experience in programme and administrative support within the UN is desirable.
