MICE Sales Manager



Job description

Luxury Resort based in Kenya is looking for a MICE Sales Manager responsible for identifying, developing and managing accounts within groups and incentive segments, increase current group segment production to generate total sales revenue.
 
The suitable candidate will ensure that rooms revenue is achieved, traveling up to 50% within Africa, Europe and other destinations as assigned and participate in trade shows, for this reason applications are open only to candidates from Europe or those eligible to travel and stay in Europe and head office based in Switzerland whenever required.

Duties:
 
Business Development:
 
Develops & fosters good relationships with key clients, be it corporate, retail, government, production or travel trade within the MICE segment.
Prospects and develops new business continuously through phone solicitation, outside sales calls, customer visits to the property, trade shows, sales blitzes, direct mail, newspaper / journal research and other customer interaction or research.
Complete research to understand each client’s business and key stakeholders, decision makers and procurement processes.
Identifies new or existing markets/accounts that meet property sales strategy.
 Research and establish a Sales Plan to increase the hotels revenue
Comfortable handling the full sale cycle from cold calling to closing.
Monitor Tender data bases and Complete RFP for Corporate Companies and Conferences.
Contract Negotiation for all groups and incentives.
Cross sell properties within the Portfolio to increase the revenue for the group and grow market share within the MICE segment.
Integrated approach and effective communication to relevant stakeholders both internal and external to improve the service offering.
 
Account Management:
 
Develop a clear understanding of each client’s requirements and utilize the information to retain and grow business.
Ensure Contracts are renewed for existing clientele.
Host site inspections, presentations, training and FAM trips where necessary.
Contract, Implementation and Administration.
Participate in relevant trade shows.
Integrated collaborative approach working with all stakeholders.
 
Administration:
 
Utilize CRM tools or filing systems to retain information and grow understanding and build upon the database.
Update / Maintain all database / contact lists for both Operations and Marketing.
Prepare reports on competitors, trends and sales activities for the local hotel and monitor results on a monthly basis.
 
Requirements:
 
Grade 12 / High School Diploma
Formal qualifications
At least 5+ years’ experience in MICE Sales in a large high-end hotel / resort
EU passport
Strategic analytical and data driven approach
Experience in the Hotel and PCO, MICE Market – understanding the full event coordination processes and procedures.
Excellent Computer literacy
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal competencies and presentation skills.
Results oriented and able to meet deadlines.
Efficient in time management and can work without supervision.
The ability to interact, and work with multiple stake holders to achieve service and departmental goals.
A good understanding of budgeting and the ability to work within set budgets
