Operations Assistant – FMCG Distribution (Kitale, Kenya)
On behalf of our client in the FMCG Distribution sector, we are seeking to recruit a competent and reliable
Operations Assistant
to join their growing team.
The role is based in
Kitale
with responsibility for supporting day-to-day operational efficiency in warehouse, fleet, compliance, and general administration.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily warehouse operations including stock receipt, storage, reconciliation, and dispatch.
- Ensure sales vehicles leave on time with complete documentation and monitor their turnaround.
- Oversee fleet management including maintenance, insurance, licensing, and inspection schedules.
- Coordinate with loaders, drivers, and security staff to maintain order and operational efficiency.
- Monitor compliance with safety, health, and security requirements including PPE usage and CCTV functionality.
- Handle administrative duties including procurement of quotations, licenses, permits, and operational supplies.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports on stock, fleet, compliance, and operations for management review.
- Provide direct operational support to the MD, including staff supervision and task prioritization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in operations, logistics, or distribution (FMCG/Alcoholic Beverages industry is an added advantage).
- Strong knowledge of stock management, reconciliations, and operational compliance.
- Proven experience in fleet coordination and general administrative support.
- Good IT skills (MS Office, especially Excel).
- Strong organizational, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, with high levels of integrity and attention to detail.
