On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent, skilled, and experienced Quality Assurance Manager to work in Nairobi, Tatu City, Kenya
Job Summary:
This role oversees total plant manufacturing process supporting the production team through quality management of the inputs and process audit to ensure plant & output package meets set quality & regulatory specifications.
To ensure that all plant manufacturing processes, packaging & final products meet set quality& regulatory requirements.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plant Quality Management, Standards, Safety and Sustainability
Implement and effectively maintain ISO 22000:2018 and other related QMS Quality standards.Ensure effective management of Pre Requisite Programs (PRP’s) including Pest Control, Waste Management, Drainage systems, Equipment and Personal Hygiene, Calibrations services and Supply of utilities.Ensure follow-up of ISO and HACCP standards action items at the workplace.Develop and update the QA/QC policies, procedures, protocols and checklists in line with Food/Feed safety and QMS standards.Participate in (cross-functional) technical root cause, problem solving sessions relevant to Food Safety and Quality Non-conformances. Manage and approve of finished products to comply with extrinsic and intrinsic specifications as per internal, regulatory and statutory requirements.Collaboration with the internal stakeholders in Engineering, Production and warehousing to achieve the conformance and improvements in Good Manufacturing Practices and hygiene standards impacting on product safety performance.Liaison with external stakeholders like KEBs, VMD on quality compliance, co-ordination and acquisition of the standardization mark, product/regulatory standards, coordination and reporting on proficiency testing reports. Support the manufacturing team in achieving plant’s production plans.Collate and maintain all quality and food safety records and documents. Continuous Improvement

Prepare and submit reports to the relevant stakeholders within agreed format and timelines (daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly).Present reports that facilitate informed and sound decision-making.
Trends, insights and concerns with recommendations clearly elaborated. Key Skills and Competencies:
Bachelor of Science in Food Science / Industrial and Analytical Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry, Microbiology/Animal science & Nutrition or a related in field.At least 6 years, 2 years’ experience in management role in a manufacturing company with experience in food/feed manufacturing and quality management processes/systems.In-depth understanding of quality standards, food safety/HACCP systems.Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening).Understanding and knowledge in feed mill standards and training skills.Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and staff.Must be proactive and be able to anticipate issues rather than being reactive.Documentation and reporting skills.Demonstrate strong leadership skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate teams, foster a positive work environment, and drive organizational performance, champion of diversity, equality and inclusive practicesHigh level of integrity.Collaboration with the team members and other units within the department and function.Strong understanding of business principles, practices, and ability to assess business risks.Ability to develop and implement long-term goals and initiatives that align with the company’s vision and objectives.Demonstrate a deep commitment to understanding and meeting customer needs Interested and qualified applicants should submit their applications through the link below.
