Lecturer (Sign Language)
Requirements for Appointment:
To be eligible for appointment to the position of Lecturer, the candidate must have:
A doctorate degree (Ph.D) from an accredited/recognized institution OR
MMed or MDS, and Specialist trainingA minimum of twelve research publication output points from refereed scholarly journals and two points from publications in conference proceedings OR
A minimum of thirty-two publication points if the applicant is from a research institution OR
A minimum of six publication points if the applicant is from practice/industryEvidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory body where applicableEvidence of membership or affiliation of the relevant professional body where applicable Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chairperson of Department, a lecturer will be expected to:
Teach, examine and assess students in the sign language classes at undergraduate and postgraduate in the Special needs hearing impairment optionProvide technical support to course lecturers and students in sign language coursesAdhere to the sign language interpreters code of ethicsUtilize technology to provide sign language teaching and interpretation servicesMaintain awareness of sign language interpreting best practices and emerging trendsContribute to the development of the department through the generation of research and scholarshipCommunicate effectively with students and colleaguesAuthor publications in high quality peer-reviewed academic journalsSupport the institutional core values, mission and visionPromote positive morale and teamwork within the department and provide exceptional customer service to students, staff and communityDevelop modules or other course components in the area of expertise as and when requiredUndertake administrative tasks and responsibilities and any other duties as required by the Dean and/or Chair of Department Lecturer (French)

Requirements for Appointment
To be eligible for appointment and/or promotion to the position of Senior Lecturer, the candidate must have:
A Doctorate degree (Ph.D) or its academic equivalent from an accredited/recognized institution OR
MMed or MDS, and Specialist trainingA cumulative or evidence of three years of teaching/research experience at University level since becoming Lecturer/Research FellowResearch output points comprising at least twenty-four points from refereed scholarly journals, six points from postgraduate students’ supervision, and two points from publications in conference proceedings since appointment to the position of LecturerEvidence of having developed proposals that have attracted funding to the UniversityAttended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshopsEvidence of continued evaluated effective teaching and researchEvidence of contribution to University service through active participation in Departmental matters, students’ academic, and School and University meetings and committee membership, among othersEvidence of recognition and registration by the relevant regulatory bodies where applicableEvidence of membership or affiliation to the relevant professional body where applicable Duties and Responsibilities
Reporting to the Chairperson of Department, a senior lecturer will be expected to:Provide leadership in teaching, research and supervision for the department in EconomicsLecture genetics and epidemiology units in accordance with the curriculumPrepare students’ progress reportsProvide support in administration of the department as requiredCarry out research work in relevant field or specializationConduct seminars, workshops or symposiaCoordinate courses, projects and practical workPrepare teaching and learning materialsSet, invigilate and mark examinations and assignmentsDevelop proposals to attract research grantsWrite journal articles and booksPresent academic papers in conferences, seminars, workshops or symposiaPeer-review publications in academic journalsDevelop and review academic programmes and curriculaSupervise Lecturers, Tutorial/Junior Research Fellows, and studentsDevelop linkages and collaborations for student exchange programmesUndertake consultancy services and community engagement Laboratory Technician ( Nutrition)
Requirements for Appointment
To be appointed as Technician II (Nutrition) one must have the following;
Diploma in the relevant field from recognized institution.Four years relevant experience.Demonstrable Information Communication Technology skills from a recognized institution.Demonstrated ability in handling laboratory services.
