Technologist III (Nursing) – 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities


Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Conducting practicals to undergraduates and post graduates students;

  • Participating in departmental research activities;

  • Preparing the list of chemicals, equipment and other consumables to procured in the laboratory;

  • Ensuring an inventory for equipment, chemicals and other consumables is caused in the laboratory;

  • Ensuring laboratory equipment and machines are well secure and calibrated according to ISO standards;

  • Knowledge for Development

  • Overseeing provision of laboratory services as well as allocation of duties to junior laboratory staff;

  • Ensuring safe use and disposal of chemicals; and

  • Ensuring training students and interns attached to the Laboratory.
  • Requirements for Appointment


    For direct appointment to this grade a candidate must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the relevant area of specialization from a recognized institution with a Technical Certificate;
  • OR

  • Higher Diploma in a relevant area or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution with three years relevant work experience;

  • Certificate in Computer Applications from a recognized institution;

    Duties and Responsibilities


    Duties and responsibilities will entail:

  • Served in the grade of Lecturer/Research Fellow or in a comparable position for a minimum period of three years or six years research/industry experience;

  • A minimum of thirty-two publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent of which twenty-four should be from refereed scholarly journals;

  • Supervised at least three postgraduate students to completion as a Lecturer/Research Fellow;

  • Be registered by a relevant Professional Body (where applicable); and

  • A minimum of forty-eight publication points as a Lecturer or equivalent of which thirty-two should be from refereed scholarly journals;

  • Supervised at least four postgraduate students to completion, including one doctoral student;

  • Attracted research or development funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
