Makueni County Public Service Board is established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act .
The Board was inaugurated on the 5th of August, as a body corporate with perpetual succession and seal capable of suing and being sued in its corporate name.
It is composed of a Chairman, five Board Members and a Secretary all appointed by the Governor
Assistant Inspector of Mines
Duties and Responsibilities
Assigned work involving inspection of mines, quarries, explore, prospecting and mining concessions.Undertake simple mining engineering projects such as mine and rehabilitation;Study and familiarize with licencing procedures, Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must: —

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail;-
Taking oral dictation;Work and data processing from manuscripts;Operating office equipment;Ensuring security of office equipment, document and records’ attending to visitors/clients; handling telephone calls and appointments; andUndertaking any other office administrative service duties that may be assigned. For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have; –
Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education mean grace C- (minus) with at least C (plain) in English or Kiswahili language or its equivalent qualification from a recognized.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail:
Gathering information on programmes and significant events,Editing stories on topical issues in a specific sectoral area,Liaising with media practitioners and the public on issues of mutual concern,Scheduling interviews with Government officials, and managing assigned projects and programmes under the guidance of the head of the section, Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must:
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following; Mass Communication, Communication Studies, Journalism, International Relations, Social Sciences, or any other approved equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;At least three years’ experience in Public Communication in the public or private sector;Possess good oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili; andBe proficient in Information Communication Technology including use of internet and intranet services. Renewable Energy Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
Undertake design for Solar PV systems.Maintenance and troubleshooting of renewable energy systemsIdentifying and assessing renewable energy sources and energy conservation measures in the County and quantifying them for feasibility.Enforcing site supervision standards for renewable energy projects i.e. solar, wind and biomass.Formulation and implementation of policies and institutional framework for renewable energy and energy conservation projects.Overseeing promotion of community education and awareness programmes on all matters relating to renewable energy and energy conservation.Preparation and coordination of departmental strategic and action plans, quarterly and annual reports.Checking quarterly progress reports submitted from Sub-Counties and recommending appropriate action.Planning, coordinating, organizing and controlling activities in renewable energy section.Carrying out monitoring and evaluation of renewable energy and energy conservation projects. Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade into this cadre.
An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer.
Work involves;
Interpretation of the Architects’ sketches andPreparation of finished drawings;Reading and interpreting Engineering drawings in relation to the architects’ sketch and incorporating these details in the finished drawings. Requirements for Appointment
Diploma or Technician certificate part III in any of the following fields: Building/Civil Engineering, Architecture or its equivalent and relevant qualification from a recognized Driver III (3 Posts)
Duties and Responsibilities
Driving a motor vehicle as authorized;Carrying out routine checks on the vehicle’s cooling, oil, electrical and brake systems, tyre pressure, etc.;Detecting and reporting malfunctioning of vehicle systems;Maintenance of work tickets for vehicles assigned;Ensuring security and safety for the vehicle on and off the road,Safety of the passengers and/or goods therein; and Maintaining cleanliness of the vehicle.
