Warehouse Supervisor
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Warehouse Controller to lead our FMCG warehouse operations in Nairobi.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing high-volume warehousing and distribution operations and a proven track record in designing and implementing decentralized distribution centers.
This role is key to supporting our retail franchise model, which empowers female entrepreneurs in rural villages through reliable access to essential goods.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all warehouse operations: receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and dispatching of stocksEnsure stock accuracy through regular cycle counts, reconciliations, and physical stock auditsDesign, implement, and manage decentralized distribution centers (DDCs) to improve reach and service levels in rural areasOptimize warehouse layout, storage systems, and workflow to ensure operational efficiencyEnsure the warehouse is always compliant and inspection-ready for government audits and regulatory checksEnforce safety, security, and cleanliness standards across all warehouse operationsLead, mentor, and manage a team of warehouse staff, ensuring high performance and continuous developmentCollaborate cross-functionally with procurement, sales, franchise support, and logistics teamsTrack and report key warehouse KPIs and identify opportunities for continuous improvementSupport the logistics and inventory needs of a rapidly growing rural franchise network, primarily led by female entrepreneurs Key Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related fieldAt least 7 years of successful work experience in warehouse management within the FMCG sector of which 3 years should be in warehouse management or supervisory level.Demonstrated success in establishing and scaling decentralized distribution networksStrong working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or NetSuiteProven ability to handle regulatory compliance and pass government inspections with no findingsExcellent leadership, organizational, and analytical skillsHands-on experience with inventory optimization and space planningStrong communication skills both in English and KiswahiliKnowledge of the Kenyan or East African retail and logistics context, especially rural last-mile distribution, is highly valued
