Kakamega County is one of the 47 counties in the Republic of Kenya. It borders Vihiga County to the south, Siaya County to the West, Bungoma County to the North and Nandi County to the East. The county covers an area of .3 Km2 (Kakamega CDP, ). The altitude of the county is between 1, metres and 2, metres above sea level.
Basic Salary Scale : Kshs. 25, x 1, – 26, x 1, – 27, x 1, – 28, x 1, – 30, x 1, – 31, x 1, – 32, x 1, – 33, p.m
Duties and Responsibilities
Assessing, planning, implementing nursing interventions and evaluating patient’s outcomes; Providing appropriate healthcare service including Integrated Management of Childhood Illnesses (IMCI), Immunization, PMTCT, Ante-Natal Care and Delivery, providing health education and counselling to patients/clients and community on identified health needs; Referring patients and clients appropriately; Facilitating patients’ admission and initiating discharge plans; Maintaining records on patient’s/client’s health condition and care; Ensuring a tidy and safe clinical environment; and Collecting and compiling data.
Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: –
Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution; Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya; Valid practicing license from Nursing Council of Kenya; and Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution
